flying through space and time

I visited the UC Berkeley School of Information Management Studies (SIMS) for one day. One 24 hour cycle and sick as all heck. But it was good. It was like an acaadmic non-tactile ITP. Same issues. Or at least the same issues I was looking at: exchange, access, sharing, knowledge generation. group behavior, the intersection of sociology with information science with information technology with policy and governance.

Pros: Strong academic orientation, strong academic support, good relationships with other departments and outside foundations and organizations. Free thinking. In California.

Cons: More corporate oriented, slightly square, very screen oriented. Most people go work for Google or somesuch.
